Hot (for me) off their debut LP (back in 2020), Off The Meds are here with a new EP of music. Kamohelo Khoaripe, Adrian Lux, Carli Löf, and Måns Glaeser are back and refreshed and ready for more. The 14 tracks on this project are full of tight and forward-thinking dance.
Kamahelo’s signature vocal musings are again one half of the equation, with haunting singing, whispering, and rapping throughout in a mix of Zulu, Tsotsitaal, and English. The production makes up the second half and continues to push the boundaries of genre and flavor and precedent.
‘WOF’ ft. Infinite from the EMU Proteus FX is a highlight, with a whole lot of bouncy slowed-down goodness; it’s a sweaty track. Another highlight ‘Catamaran’ is also super infectious, with its zig-zagging synth risers, minimalist percussion, and Kamahelo’s voice running circles around the mind.🍍
